BIG HORN SHEEP
Our Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep hunts are in the World Famous
Cadomin Mine area of Alberta. This is the zone where the Ministers
tag is auctioned.
These hunts are horseback/tent camp hunts. Some are done out of
our main camp, others are packed in remote fly camps. These hunts
can be very physically challenging while some are fairly easy,
mostly done on horseback. Good comfortable hiking boots that fit
are a MUST. WE recommend you break new boots in beforehand. Rain
gear & layers of clothing, wool or fleece is suggested. QUIET
is the key. A good set of binos & a 60 power spotting scope
is the norm. A fast flat shooting rifle is suggested ex: 270.-30-06-
7mm.
ELK
Our Elk hunts are on the eastern slopes area of the Canadian Rockies,
as well as in the rolling foothills west and northwest of Calgary.
Minimum size requirements in some zones are 6 points or better
,while a 3-pointer is legal minimum size in our other zones. Our
archery hunts start in late Aug. when the bulls are usually in
rut and run through Oct. before the rifle season opens. Our rifle
hunts take place both during the rut as well as during Oct and
Nov. Archery Elk hunts can be combined with muledeer or whitetail
depending on zone. Our rifle Elk hunts are usually our first hunts
to sell out due to the high demand for these outstanding hunts
. Preplanning is a must if you want one of these great hunting
opportunities. Elk hunts are our specialty.
WHITETAIL
Our single species Whitetail hunts occur in productive areas throughout
western Alberta . There are world class Whitetail deer in our
territories Our last season produced a 190+ Whitetail . a serious
trophy. We can combine our Whitetail hunts with Mule deer in most
cases . Archery season opens prior to the rifle season and continues
simultaneously to the end of the rifle season on Nov 30 .
MULE DEER
There are World class Muledeer in our hunting areas. Our Mule
deer archery season opens in late Aug prior to the rifle season
and hunters should expect to see several bucks over the 160 category.
Our Mule deer rifle hunts are offered either as single species
or as combination hunts with Whitetail, Moose or Elk. These hunts
are in some of Alberta's top zones. If you want to book a 2001
Muledeer hunt, archery or rifle, please phone or e-mail today
to reserve your spot. We have numerous hunts available for 2 on
1 hunts or 1 on 1. This year we have a group rate for Muledeer
single species hunts. Up to 4 hunters per camp.
MOOSE
Our rifle Moose hunts are on the eastern slopes of the Canadian
Rockies and in the foothills regions of western Alberta as single
species hunts and in some cases combination hunts with Mule Deer
or Whitetail Deer. Wolf /Coyote can be added to most hunts at
minimal cost. Our hunts start in late Aug. and continue to the
end of Nov. We conduct our moose hunts during the rut which occurs
during late Sept and throughout Oct. Some of our hunts are in
Sept. the rest are done in Nov. (spot & stalk) The majority
of our Moose hunts are done on horseback with a few on ATV's.
Our archery Moose hunts are frequently combination hunts with
Mule or Whitetail Deer. Starting late Aug. thru to the end of
Oct .when the rut is complete. Early season is exciting because
the bulls are active and the deer are not yet wary. Oct. produces
the most reliable results as the bulls eagerly respond to calls.
The later season produces ongoing success as the bulls are more
mobile and predictable as they feed on the red willows. There
is no minimum size requirements for bull Moose in Alberta.
